Alaska Rivers

Alaska Rivers:

Chandalar River

The Chandalar River is in the northern interior of the state of Alaska. It flows into the Yukon River less than 50 miles west of Fort Yukon, Alaska.

Chena_River

The Chena River is a 100-mile-long river in the Interior. It is home to several species of fish and is a spawning area for king salmon.

Chilkat_River

The Chilkat River is a river in British Columbia and southeastern Alaska that flows southward from the Coast Range to the Chilkat Inlet and ultimately Lynn Canal.

Chitina_River

The Chitina River is a river in southern Alaska. It begins in the Saint Elias Mountains at the base of Logan Glacier and runs 120 miles west until it flows into the Copper River at Chitina, Alaska.

Copper river

The Copper River or Atna River is a river, approximately 300 miles long, in south-central Alaska in the United States.

Karluk River

The Karluk River is 22 miles long located on the southwest end of Kodiak Island in Alaska.

Kasilof River

Today Kasilof is still heavily involved in commercial fishing and tourism. In fact one of the original homesites in Kasilof is still processing salmon under the brand name of Ed's Kasilof Seafoods.

The Nushagak River is in southwest Alaska. It begins in the Alaska Range and flows southwest 280 miles to Nushagak Bay, an inlet of Bristol Bay.

The Porcupine river caribou herd, considered by many to be threatened by oil-drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) in Alaska, gets its name from the river.
