For the above reasons Michigan has some of the finest museums in our country which document the evolution of industry, technology and science.

If you love water and the great outdoors, Michigan will be a contstant thrill for you. Michigan has over 11,000 lakes and is surrounded by the Great Lakes, meaning you are never more than 6 miles away from a river or lake.

Lake trout, brown trout, walleye, salmon, steelhead and bass—these are just some of the fish populating our Great Lakes and our inland lakes and streams. A record 61 lbs. 8 oz. Lake trout was caught by 16 year old Lucas Lanczy of Michigan.

Michigan's Department of Natural Resources manages the largest dedicated state forest system in the nation. Hunting is a major component of Michigan's economy. Michigan ranks first in the nation in licensed hunters, over one million.

Michigan's Adventure in Muskegon is the only major theme park left, however we found some smaller waterparks and the Air Zoo to be worth while stops also.

Botanical Gardens and Arboretums are about connecting people with nature, about sustaining the earth and caring for our natural heritage. Michigans gardens rival any seen throughout the USA and anyone who spends time there cannot help but be inspired and uplifted by such beauty.
