Nebraska has a population of over 1,750,000 with it's largest city being Omaha.
You can hike the Sandhills, canoe the rivers, ride the trails, step back in time at one of the many museums, explore the history of the Sandhills, experience friendly, small communities or real ranch life.

Relax and enjoy the breathtaking sky -- at sunrise, sunset or the stars at night!

Nebraska is a sportsman's paradise with deer, turkey, waterfowl, pheasant or other small game and fish in abundance.

Located on the primary migratory path for hundreds of bird species, Nebraska is a utopia for the birder!
Among the principal attractions are Agate Fossil Beds, Homestead, and Scotts Bluff National Monuments; Chimney Rock National Historic Site; a recreated pioneer village at Minden; SAC Museum near Ashland; the Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer Grand Island; Boys Town; the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery and the Lied Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln; the State Capitol in Lincoln; the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha; the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha; Museum of Nebraska Art in Kearney; Museum of Nebraska History in Lincoln; and the University of Nebraska State Museum in Lincoln.

The vast plains of Nebraska extend from the prairies in the east, rising up to meet the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in the west.
Small towns and farms are scattered about the expansive landscape. Omaha, the state's largest city and only riverfront community, sits on the west bank of the Missouri River.

Now a prosperous commercial center, Omaha has a prairie outpost history. At the Durham Western Heritage Museum, a multi-media presentation and many artifacts depict the history of Omaha.
Fishing is great in Nebraska, with so many rivers, lakes and streams to chose from the choices are unlimited.

Over a dozen studies have shown that being with family and friends, relaxing and being outdoors and close to nature are the primary reasons people spend time on the water, and you can't do any better than fishing in Nebraska.

Nebraska also has some of the best bird and game hunting in the country. From ducks, geese and pheasant to deer, boar and bear hunting in Nebraska is a tradition. Hundreds of thousands of hunters each year take to the wild seeking a trophy and filling their freezer with meat for the winter.

Birding is the fastest-growing outdoor activity in America. In a recent study by the U.S. Department of the Interior, appreciation of birds ranks second behind gardening as America's favorite pastime. Birds add a fascinating dimension to our surroundings with their color, liveliness, and music. Because they are wild creatures, they bring an element of nature into our lives.

In Nebraska we have over 300 species of birds, perhaps this is why every year millions of Americans come to Nebraska to watch and take pictures of the birds and wildlife in our wonderful state.

Come and enjoy the great outdoors that Nebraska has to offer.
