Let's start right out with the Ohio State Buckeyes. What is a "Buckeye"?

The Ohio Buckeye is the State tree. Buckeyes is the nickname for the Ohio State University teams with a long and proud tradition of excellence in many areas. The football team has won 7 national championships, basketball team has played in ten final fours winning the championship in 1960 and Ohio State has produced over two hundred Olympic athletes winning 76 medals, 33 Gold medals.






Seven U.S. Presidents were born in Ohio.

Many tourists are drawn to Ohio's historical attractions, varying landscapes, and recreational opportunities.

Over 2,500 lakes and 43,000 miles of river landscapes and hundreds of miles of scenic trails are a paradise for boaters, fishermen, hikers, and swimmers.
Ohio's amusement parks, Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, Kings Island, Kalahari Resort and Memphis Kiddie Park are also important to the tourism industry.
Of special historical interest are the Native American archaeological sites—including grave mounds and other sites.
