Oregon also has some of the best bird and game hunting in the country. From ducks, geese and pheasant to deer, boar and bear hunting in Oregon is a tradition. Hundreds of thousands of hunters each year take to the wild seeking a trophy and filling their freezer with meat for the winter.

Birding is the fastest-growing outdoor activity in America. In a recent study by the U.S. Department of the Interior, appreciation of birds ranks second behind gardening as America's favorite pastime. Birds add a fascinating dimension to our surroundings with their color, liveliness, and music. Because they are wild creatures, they bring an element of nature into our lives.

In Oregon we have over 300 species of birds, perhaps this is why every year millions of Americans come to Oregon to watch and take pictures of the birds and wildlife in our wonderful state.
